The character ditor of Monster Hunter Wilds leaves prospective hunters a lot of freedom for the design of her avatar. We show you how to use design codes and where you can find cool presets for your hunter and your palicos.

What are design codes and what are they good for? With Design Codes you can download ready -made templates for hunters and palicos from other players if they share the code with you. The codes consist of 12 alphanumeric characters, in which you also have to pay attention to upper and lower case.

Players can upload their character designs in the editor and share the code that are created with you so that you can take over the design in your editor. You can then continue to adjust these templates according to the pleasure and sounds or take over directly.

Redeem Design Codes

If you want to redeem design codes, you first have to go to the third rider in the character editor for your hunter or your Pailco. There you will find the “Download Design” option.

There you can then enter the 12-digit code that belongs to the design that you want to use as a template. Afterwards you can download the template and adjust how you want it.

Create design codes

If you want to create your own design code and share with friends or other players, you have to follow the following steps:

  • Creates your character as you want to share it
  • Then go to “Save/Load” in the third rider
  • Select a place where you want to save your design
  • Then open the submenu and select “Upload design”
  • If everything worked out, you will receive your personal 12-digit design code that you can share
  • With this code, other players can then use your preset

    • “Upload design” option is grayed out

    Sometimes it can happen that the “Upload design” option is grayed out. This happens more often when characters are created. Then you can save the design, but the editor does not let you upload it. You will then receive this message:

    If this is the case with you, you have to start the game with the character and use a character edit voucher in the character selection. Then you can upload the design. The voucher is not lost, provided that there are no changes to your hunter.

    In the Steam Store you can currently get a free voucher for your hunter and for your Palico. If you want more, you have to buy them for real money.
