9 tips for the Pokémon GO Natural Zone 2024

In this list you will find various tips on which Pokémon are worthwhile at the event, which ones you should pay particular attention to and how you can defeat the event’s strong opponents.

We have marked possible shinys with asterisks*.

Catch the highlight Pokémon – here are the counters

The strongest Pokémon of the event are the monsters in the Proto-Raids, in the Level 5 Raids and Riffex* in the Dynamax and Gigantamax forms. You can check the counter lists to see which monsters you should prepare.

  • Proto-Groudon* is one of the top attackers in the game. Here are the counters against Proto-Groudon.
  • Like Groudon, Proto-Kyogre* is an absolute top Pokémon in the game. Here are the counters against Proto-Kyogre.
  • Primordial Dialga* fights hard and can stop the item timer for 6 minutes outside of battles with the adventure effect “Time Noise”. Here are the counterattacks against Ur-Dialga.
  • Primal Palkia* is also very powerful and can increase the spawn radius around you with the Space Strike adventure effect. Here are the counters against Ur-Palkia.
  • Important: Both Ur-Palkia and Ur-Dialga only have a chance of being proficient in the Adventure Effect attack, not a guarantee.

Riffex in raids: You can catch Riffex* in high and low form in raids. Here are the counterattacks against Riffex.

Riffex in Dynamax and Gigantamax battles: To defeat Riffex as a Dynamax or Gigantamax monster, you need Dynamax Pokémon yourself. The best counterattack you can use here is Dynamax-Stalobor. You could catch that in the last few weeks.

Be prepared for Gigantamax Riffex to be pretty damn hard to beat. Larger coaching groups are certainly needed here to achieve a victory.

So, tip: Prepare Dynamax Stalobor to have a strong counterattack against Riffex.

Should I buy a GO Nature Zone ticket?

The ticket to the GO Nature Zone costs 14.99 euros in the in-game shop. This ticket comes with several bonuses, including an increased shiny rate, special research for the event, and more. But: In principle, there is also a lot of content, such as the top Pokémon mentioned above, which can be used without a ticket.

So you should think carefully about whether you need the ticket. You can find an overview of all the contents of the GO Naturzone with and without a ticket here.

Watch out for the Dynamax particles

Although the event raises the daily limit to 1,600 Dynamax particles (even 3,200 with a ticket), you should still be careful not to waste particles on Dynamax fights that you don’t necessarily need. If you want to focus on Riffex or Gigantamax Riffex, you should only use your particles there.

At the same time, you should collect particles from all power sources that you pass so that you don’t miss any when you want to start a fight.

Take advantage of the current remote raid improvement

A test is currently running that makes it possible to simply join trainers who are currently taking part in a raid via the friends list. In addition, trainers who joined via remote raids can also invite additional players via remote raids. This is still possible throughout the entire natural zone. So if you are missing fellow players nearby, this is one way to get the raid monsters. There is no remote raid limit during the event.

    Catch the powerful Pokémon

There will be new, so-called “powerful” Pokémon in the GO Nature Zone. These monsters appear in the wild, are particularly strong, and have an increased chance of being an XL or XXL Pokémon. We have detailed information about the powerful Pokémon for you here.

Important: The monsters probably have a very low catch rate and a high escape rate. The new GO Safari Ball is designed to help catch them. So it’s best to save it for the powerful Pokémon and use berries to make them easier to catch.

Watch out for the following Pokémon during the event. They can appear as powerful Pokémon:

  • Powerful Pokémon on Saturday:
  • Tauboss*
  • Geowaz*
  • Gyarados*
  • Luxtra*
  • Cerapendra*
  • Voltula*
  • Monargoras*
  • aggrostella*
  • Powerful Pokémon on Sunday:
  • Venusaur*
  • Quappo*
  • Dragoran*
  • Impergator*
  • Elevoltek*
  • mamutel*
  • Zapplarang*
  • Tandrak*
  • Use your GO Safari balls in the nature zone in good time

The new GO Safari Ball can be unlocked during the event. You can have several of them in your inventory, but be careful: at 6:15 p.m. on both days, all unused Safari Balls that you still have in your inventory will expire. So use it before it’s too late.

Consider: Currently, Pokémon that you catch in the GO Safari Ball cannot be sent to Pokémon Home.

Try to get the Galar birds

At the local version of the event in Fukuoka, Japan, trainers reported that the safari balls were also good for catching the rare Galar birds. So you could try your luck during the nature zone and use the daily adventure smoke to possibly get a chance at the birds.

Prepares evolved Pokémon for special attacks

As part of the event, there are several Pokémon that can use special attacks when caught or evolved. If you want them and already have corresponding candidates in the collection, prepare them, for example by marking them.

Exclusive attacks on the weekend include the following:

  • Venusaur: Flora statue
  • Pigeon Boss: Gust of Wind
  • Quappo: Counterattack
  • Gyarados: Wettail
  • Impergator: Aqua howitzer
  • Luxtra: Psychobiter
  • Classic event preparation also applies in the natural zone

Last but not least, the same tips apply as with Community Days:

  • Sort through your collection and make room for new Pokémon
  • Prepare enough balls
  • Develop Mega Pokémon for the types you particularly want to win lots of candy from
  • Make sure your egg incubator is empty and you have room for new event eggs
  • Take advantage of the snapshot surprises on both days
  • Complete the Collector Challenges on time
  • We’re keeping our fingers crossed that you catch lots of rare Pokémon! Do you also have any tips? Then share it with us in the comments!
