Every day, millions of Swedes go to work to do the work that pays off at the end of the month when the salary arrives in the account.
Earning money to be able to save for worse times, or to be able to treat yourself to what you want, is the driving force of many in working life.

Food prices rise as inflation falls: ‘Unusual development’
But recently, more and more people have found it harder to save money than before. Inflation has been a cloud over many people’s personal finances when everything from interest rates and food prices have been high.
For the third time in a row, however, the Riksbank recently lowered the interest rate and inflation is on the decline. But despite that, a large expense item has continued to increase in cost, namely food purchases.
News24 has previously written about prices increasing as inflation fell during the month of September.
– It is a slightly unusual development compared to previous years, food prices often fall in September, has Caroline Neander at Statistics Sweden said in a press release.
However, it turned out that there were foods that had become cheaper, for example leeks, lamb and cucumbers. But among the goods that went in the opposite direction in terms of price during September were both lemons, berries and oranges.

For many, a sacred moment during the working day is the lunch break. Not infrequently, many people go out and buy food in restaurants, while others choose to take food boxes with them and thus keep expenses down.
The fact is that if you bring a lunch box with you every day, you don’t just save lunch money. The total amount for a whole year can amount to tens of thousands of kroner.
Swedbank signs its homepage how the lunchbox can make a difference in your wallet.
“In just one year, you can actually have saved over SEK 21,000 – this is how easy it is to get started,” they write.
That lunch out costs money is nothing new. If you bring a packed lunch from home every day for a whole month, you actually save SEK 1,800. And if you then continue during all the months of the year, the amount saved amounts to an incredible SEK 21,600.

Swedbank’s calculation of the amount you save is based on the cost of a lunch times the average working days during a month.
However, the bank has calculated low. Namely, they start from a lunch price of SEK 80 times 22 days, which becomes SEK 1,760. For the sake of simplicity, that sum is rounded up to SEK 1,800 per month.
SEK 1,800 x 12 months = SEK 21,600 in one year.
But let’s say you live in a big city or work in an urban environment. Then the lunch prices are often higher.
Should lunch then cost you 120 kroner per time instead, the amount saved would amount to 2,640 kroner a month and a breathtaking 31,680 kroner a year – only if you have a lunch box with you every day!
