The potato gratin is often at least as good the next day as immediately after cooking. This makes it an excellent dish to have as a lunch box.
But there are certain dishes that, on the other hand, become much worse when you heat them up – and which you should therefore never have as a lunchbox, which News24 previously written about.

IN News24:’s food podcast “The ingredients” says the super chef Mikael Einarsson about how he usually prepares his potato gratin.

– You slice the potatoes and brown the onions. Then it is simmered in broth. Then, when the broth has simmered, you gratin it with a lot of cheese, explains Einarsson.
In this variant, there is no cream, but only cheese. Einarsson suggests the varieties comté or gruyère, but also notes that you can mix in another cheese if you want a cheaper version.
