This is how you find and recruit Pierre as a free mercenary

You want to recruit Pierre as a mercenary in Jagged Alliance 3? We’ll show you where to find him and how to get him on the team.

Who is Pierre Laurent? You will run into the character Pierre several times in the game. You get a chance to kill or spare him. If you choose the peaceful path, you can recruit the mercenary for your team

Keep Pierre alive and recruit

You have to do this: In order to get the option to recruit Pierre for your team, you have to make a few important decisions in the game beforehand.

  • First you meet Pierre at the start and you have to defeat him
  • After defeating him, you have the choice to kill him or let him live
  • Choose to keep Pierre alive to recruit him later
  • This is a very important point! If you kill Pierre, you no longer have a chance to get him on your team
  • During the story you slowly build up a good reputation with Pierre by gaining good standing with Grand Chien
  • If you help Ernie Village, you will gain Pierre’s trust. Here you are supposed to help him out with a machine gun, train the military and prevent Pierre’s father from being lynched
  • The task “Reforming Bastien” is also an important point to ensure you trust Pierre
  • Once you’ve done all that, you can approach and recruit Pierre in the yard (F19).

    • So it’s important how you decide early in the game to hire Pierre. Unfortunately, we chose the cold-blooded option in our first walkthrough and therefore no longer have a chance to get him as a Merc.
