Season 23 in Destiny 2 not only brings new content, but also the return of the well-known house cats from the Dreaming City. In this guide we will show you how you can find the 14 hidden locations of the Star Cats in Season 23 and what you get for them.
We updated this article on December 5th and added four more star cat locations.
What’s with the cats? As early as 2018, the Dreaming City was home to mysterious Egyptian-looking cat statues, to which the guardians were able to reveal a small gift that smelled slightly of mint.
At that time there was still speculation about what and why cats in particular were so present in the Dreaming City. There were some ideas from the community.
However, this mystery has not yet been solved. In any case, the interdimensional kittens are back in Season 23. There are 14 of them in total and they purr through the various seasonal activities where you can reveal a small gift to them again.
You can find out exactly where you can find the paw lickers and what you get for your effort here on MeinMMO.
In the trailer for Season 23 you can see what task the Guardians are currently supposed to complete:
This is how you give gifts to the star cats in 2023
Not all kittens are already revealed: The Star Cats in Destiny 2 are perfect for triumph hunters and attentive collectors. They hide in different places and you have to look closely to spot them. Once you have found one, you can reveal a small gift. In return, the kitten will give you a few rewards before it disperses.
How many cats are there to find? There are a total of 14 star cats hidden, but you can only find 2 of them at the moment. However, as you progress through the Season of Wishing, more cats become available. So we will add more locations to this article soon.
If you’d rather search for things yourself but don’t know where to start, you’ll find clues to the locations in the game. To do this, click on “Rituals” in the Triumphs under “Season of Wish” and then on “Secrets”.
Starcat 1: Blind Spring
The first star cat is easy to find. She sits in the Blind Spring in the Dreaming City and scratches at the big door there. It’s best to collect them when the source is not active. But it can also be done in passing.
Star Cat 2: Garden of Wealth
Star cat number 2 is getting more difficult. She only appears in the Garden of Wealth area. Either in a passage called “Polysemy” from Riven’s Lair or in The Twist”. So you may have to do a few runs until the right area appears.
Once you’ve hit the bull’s eye, orient yourself towards the back of the area. The cat then sits somewhat hidden behind a stone, to the left of the stairs in front of the portal.
In the video from Esoterikk you can see the exact cat location:
Starcat 3: Starlight Chamber
You can find house tiger number 3 in the Lost Sector of the Starlight Chamber. To do this you have to find and unlock the Lost Sector in the Dreaming City. You can then play until you get to the boss room and then find the star cat on the small table in the middle of the room. She calculates the gravity there.
Starcat 4: Coast of Lost Wishes
Starcat Number 4 can also be found in a Lost Sector. To do this, land at the Divalian Mists point in the Dreaming City. Then turn around and look for the entrance to the Lost Sector.
The kitten is then directly on a rock to the right of the sector boss’s loot chest and is admiring your spheres there.
Starcat 5: Aphel’s Resting Place
For the kitten in the Lost Sector Aphel’s Resting Place you have to go to the shore in the Dreaming City. She’s sitting there in a bowl. So cross the Lost Sector again, defeat the boss and then look into the large bowl behind the chest. There the sweet thing licks its hairy paws.
Starcat 6: Riven’s Lair
The last Mauze is once again hidden in a seasonal activity, namely in the Temple of the Queen’s Wrath. If you missed the area, that’s no big deal. You can also find it in “The Twist” and “Riven’s Lair”.
Fight your way through the first section there. and then activates the three plates. In the temple you then have to kill the boss and light the three torches. Once you’ve done all of this, go through the archways on the right side of the room and turn right. The star cat can then be found at the other end in a small niche hidden behind a pillar.
If you can’t find the way to the week 2 cats, you can also watch this video. Esoterik is a real cat connoisseur and knows where all the kitties are lurking.
This is what awaits you as a reward: Anyone who has discovered all 14 star cats will receive the Triumph of Well-Known House Tigers. This rewards you with the exotic spirit shell called the Dragon Guardian Shell. In addition to completing the individual triumph, you also get some loot from the Dreaming City and 100 reputation rank with Riven.
Have you already discovered the kittens? What do you think of the reward and what do you think about the fact that the star cats are still roaming the Dreaming City? Feel free to tell us in the comments.
But you probably don’t need to rush with the cats: Destiny 2: Season of Wish will take almost 7 months: This is planned to keep the shooter alive
