What is a world stage in Genshin Impact? The world tier determines the difficulty of your world, but also determines the quality of the rewards you can receive.
How to increase the world level? The world level depends on your adventure rank. This means that if you increase a certain level in the adventure rank, your world level will also increase.

How many world levels are there? Once you have reached adventure level 20 in Genshin Impact, the world level increases by 1 level for every 5 adventure levels.
With some levels this happens automatically and with others you have to do a special job beforehand, an “adventure level increase”, so that the adventure level and thus the world level can be increased further.

How to adjust world level? From adventure level 40 and thus world level 5 you can reduce the world level by 1 or restore the corresponding world level.
To do this, go to the “i” behind the world level display in the menu in your player profile. You can find this directly under your adventure level. Then the option to adjust the world level opens:

What should you pay attention to? If you change the world level, you can no longer change it for 24 hours. You can then use a timer to see how long you can no longer change the setting.
It doesn’t matter whether you want to lower the world level or reset it to its original state: you have to wait 24 hours each time.
World level also becomes important when you want to join another player’s world in multiplayer. For some players, you will see the note on the right in the display: “Join from world tier XY” and you cannot send a request.
This is because you can always switch from a higher world level to an equal or lower one. However, if the other player is at a higher world level than you, you will not be able to join.
How to take advantage of the World Tier setting? The world level setting is particularly useful when you realize that the opponents are currently too difficult for your troops and you are having trouble fighting.
You can also lower the world level if you have received one or more new characters that you still have to level up properly, but you already want to play them.
Conversely, a higher world level is particularly useful if you already have a correspondingly strong troop or want to farm the best possible items. In that case, you should play at the highest possible world level that you can set with your adventure level.
Finally, setting the world tier also gives you greater flexibility if you want to play with other players who may be a tier below you but still want to visit you in your world.
