We heard great skiing news in Sunday’s Sports Studio.
– It feels really good, to be away from everything. But even though I’m in a place where I’m good to be and I’ve gotten some distance from things, the fact is that I’m having dreams where I’m crying to different people, what the hell have I gone to do.
– In order for me to find answers to these millions of questions in my head, I have to get my thoughts elsewhere and realize long-term, even crazy dreams. And I have realized that I need a new project.
That’s how he started his thinking Antti tuisku, one of Finland’s most successful artists, who ended his career last summer. At least for now.
Then Tuisku, 39, moved to Spain.
Earlier this week, Tuisku mysteriously wrote on Instagram that 4.2. it’s worth listening on Sunday. It was speculated on Some whether Tuisku will return to the concert stages already. “How many more nights do we have to endure in this tension?”, asked the Finnish skiing star Krista Pärmäkoski.
Answers were received in the sports studio. The name of the project is “Mie hiihän 2024/25”.
– I know that this is a completely crazy thing. And I know that I will be really hard both mentally and physically. But I have to do this.
– Maybe because I’ve always had to have a project, because I don’t dare to stop or just let myself be. But I would never forgive myself if I didn’t do this now. If I don’t do this now, I’ll never do this.
The previous quotes are from the story insert. In an interview with Urheilustudio, Tuisku then confirmed that a year from now he will be seen on the championship tracks.
– This is going to be a completely absurd project. Certainly the biggest physical and mental trial of my life.
Antti Tuiskuhan is not a complete yellow beak in skiing circles. Tuisku has often been spotted training with Finnish skiers, among other things. For example, in 2020, Tuisku told about his friendship and training with Krista Pärmäkoski.

What is the starting level?
Tuisku says that his intention is to participate in a freestyle skiing competition at the SC next year.
The dream had been simmering in Tuisku’s mind for a long time, when the ex-star artist had become familiar with the brutal and ascetic life of Finland’s top skiers.
– I had already thought a lot during my artist career that I would really like to experience what it is like to be a top athlete. I would like to see and experience it myself, and on the other hand, through my experience, show all Finns what it really requires.
– I’ve also heard that Antti, you could already go there to compete! That’s really a huge difference. This is a human experiment, where we see what can actually be accomplished in a year.
Last fall, Antti Tuisku published a joint photo of the training skier Jasmi to Joensuu with.
Tuisku says that the work ethic and mentality he already knows from his career as an artist are to his advantage. He promises to do his best to at least find his mental and physical limits.
– People seem to somehow have such an image of me that I have a long skiing background. In fact, I put on free skis for the first time in Val di Fiemme four years ago. In terms of my fitness levels, I certainly don’t push myself from scratch, but as a skier I’m completely raw.
Then it was revealed that Tuisku is not preparing for the SC skiing alone. He has also worked as the head coach of the Finnish national team Reijo Jylhä – A guy from Rovaniemi known to Tuisku.
– I couldn’t be more privileged to have access to Reijo’s teachings.
“We find those limits”
It became clear from Jylhä’s words that hard times await Tuisku.
– It’s not a big deal for me to produce all kinds of border searches that Anti asked for. That is the basic job of a coach. Yes, we find those limits, we get the desired feelings of pain and all the spectrums that a top athlete experiences. Surely overloads and all will be found.
According to Jylhä, Tuisku’s physical talent, for example in terms of oxygen intake, is already at the level of an average endurance athlete, including male skiers. Skiing is also not bad in terms of basic technique.
They say the biggest job is to make Tuisku’s skiing look like competitive skiing.
– We are committed to bringing experts around. This is not something between the two of us. We are hiring Finland’s best experts for the project here in Rovaniemi, Jylhä linjasi.
Tuisku says that he is especially looking forward to the fact that everything extra has been stripped from life. He plans to live according to his plan every day.
– We know that the plan includes 700–750 hours of training during the year. Nevertheless, the thought is somewhat comforting to me. It seems simpler than the life I got used to as an artist.
– I believe that self-awareness – who I am – opens up a lot through such a huge physical trial, a project and a fight. I want to find spiritual answers to, for example, why I wanted to abandon my career as an artist. Why am I in this situation?
A new ski club too!
And this is not all the news. Now the AT Ski Team has also been launched, i.e. a new skiing club.
Tuisku described that it is about the skiing club of the future. Initially, the purpose is to financially support the women’s representative team, for which recruitment is now open.
– We are looking for promising athletes who, through us, will be able to strive towards top sports, Tuisku said.
– Through my own project, I have the opportunity to support sports and raise skiing in an even greater light. And hopefully in an even better light.
Jylhä describes AT Ski Team as an intermediate form between a stable and a team, the kind that will be needed in the future to support skiers as an addition to the Ski Association.
