At 12.00 the start goes at Stockholm’s stadium, and the race will have a major impact on bus traffic in the inner city between 07.30 and 20.30. The lines affected are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 50, 53, 54, 55, 57, 61, 65, 66, 67, 69, 71, 74, 75, 76, 507, 515, 639, 670 and 676.
“You get around more easily with the subway, shuttle boat and commuter train when the inner city is closed to buses, trams and other traffic,” SL states on its website.
According to Mats Eriksson, the organizer takes great responsibility for the safety of the race.
– However, we are also on site for assistance should any situation arise. We have camera surveillance at some fixed locations and drones to prevent and detect crimes or disturbances.
What kind of crime could it be?
– At this type of event, there are usually no crimes, but there may be someone who wants to disrupt the order or express an opinion. Stockholm Marathon has priority to the places, so we monitor to be able to be there quickly in that case.
The police also assist with help if an ambulance or emergency services need to get through the area.
