The series Blue Bloods is canceled after 14 seasons. That also means after 14 years joint collaboration. The actress Bridget Moynahan, who plays the police officer’s daughter Erin Reagan in front of the camera, reacted very emotionally to the situation.
For Tom Selleck, his colleagues from Blue Bloods are his family, whom he supported until the last day of filming
Bridget Moynahan feels the end of the series is one deep loss, as reported by People. Moynahan points to the close family relationship between the actors on the set of Blue Bloods:
This was our daily life for 14 years. And we have experienced all the great moments of life together, whether births, deaths, marriages, divorces, illnesses, we got through everything together.
The mutual affection was also clear on the last day of filming between Bridget Moynahan and colleague Donnie Wahlberg.
Although Tom Selleck, aka series father Frank Reagan, had already filmed his scenes,
he came back to the setto provide emotional support to his fellow actors:
We were standing behind a monitor – I’m emotional as I say this – and I had my arm around Tom and he was holding my hands, just like my father did. We were just so grateful and he was so gracious. It was like that from day one: ‘Nice to meet you. We are a family.’
As Moynahan pointed out, this meant something to her final moment alongside Tom Selleck a lot:
This love and appreciation and respect without ever having to say it. And the appreciation for everything we had just built while watching our brother, son, teammate and such a voice and face of the series finish his final scene, that was really emotional.
Her gratitude also goes out to the fans of the series, who are also part of the family for the cast of Blue Bloods.
As Bridget Moynahan reported, she and the rest of the Blue Bloods team shared a lot during the final filming touching farewell moments each other.
The 14th and final season of Blue Bloods aired in two halves in the US, with Part 2 premiering on October 18th in the States. The previous episodes have not yet been released in Germany.
