Latvia was the last team to reach the playoffs. The quarter-final between Finland and Canada is ahead on Thursday at 20:20 in Tampere.
The first blocks of the Ice Hockey World Cup tournament were played late on Tuesday evening. Latvia beat Switzerland 4–3 in overtime and advanced to the next round and third in Group B. Latvia’s victory also meant that Sweden will have to travel to Riga as a guest of the competition host.
In Thursday’s quarterfinals, the pairs USA-Czech Republic, Sweden-Latvia, Finland-Canada and Switzerland-Germany will meet. The Lions’ match will be played in Tampere at 20:20.
The semi-finals and medal games of the World Championships are ahead this weekend in Tampere. If Finland reaches the semi-finals, it will play on Saturday at 14:20. The second semi-final is scheduled at 18:20.
On Sunday, the bronze medal game starts at 15:20 and the final match at 20:20.

In the semifinals, the best-ranked country meets the lowest-ranked country and the second-placed third. Ranking is based on 1) group placement, 2) group stage score, 3) group stage goal difference, 4) group stage goals, 5) world ranking before the tournament.

Overtime and winning shots:
In the playoffs, overtime/overtime lasts ten minutes, and in the final, 20 minutes. If the match is tied after overtime or overtime, a goal-scoring contest will be played. Five players from each team participate in the goal competition. If the match for the winning goal is tied after five pairs, the solution is sought on a round-over basis.
