This is how the head coach explained the Young Lions

According to Lauri Mikkola, the head coach of the Young Lions, the field balance was disappointing. According to captain Jere Lassila, there was a lack of maturity on Wednesday.

GOTHENBURG. The Young Lions World Cup tournament continued with a loss, when Germany stretched to a surprising victory with goals of 4-3.

Finland’s head coach Lauri Mikkola regretted that the team’s field balance failed in the match.

– The result was very weak. We had control of the game, but we knew that Germany is a good counterattacking team. Our field balance let us down too much and they scored their goals because of that, Mikkola commented to Urheilu.

– We had the game and there were more chances, but we just couldn’t make them.

Finland’s court balance backfired in a harsh way after puck losses.

– The balance was missing. When we attacked, we were too deep and there were too big gaps. Germany was able to make good use of counterattack positions.

How do you feel, were you able to pump up the team to the required level after yesterday?

– Yes, we worked together there and had a strong belief that this game would be won, but individual games are such that it can hurt and bounce. Now Germany was stronger.

Captain of the Young Lions Jere Lassila arrived at the interview looking very disappointed.

– Losing is always a bad thing. We did not reach the level we should reach. Yes, it’s sad.

– Our offensive play was weak and then we weren’t ready to defend when we lost the puck in stupid places. Maturity was lacking today.

In the booth, the Finnish team already turned their eyes to the future. Lassila reminded that Finland still has two games left in the first group and everything is in their own hands.

– Of course, after the loss, everyone has bad feelings, but everyone knows that this is not really what we are capable of. We have to be able to bring it out.

Finished the 2–1 goal for Finland with a handsome wrist shot Kasper Halttunen was on the same lines.

– You shouldn’t worry about this, this is a short tournament. Today we go over things and head towards the next game.

– There is still a lot left here and possibilities for everything. There’s no reason to put your head around the bush.
