The government wants to invest in information efforts abroad, as part of reducing immigration to Sweden. This was announced by Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) at a press conference together with the Swedish Democrats group leader in the Riksdag, Henrik Vinge.
This includes, among other things, targeted communication to foreign newsrooms and news agencies as well as information to foreign embassies in Sweden.
“M and L have previously been skeptical”
– This is a sign that the Sweden Democrats are once again pushing the other parties in the Tidö Agreement in their direction. They are forcing the Moderates, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals to make the Sweden Democrats’ migration policy their own, says Jens B Nordström, political commentator.
He also points out that the Moderates and Liberals have previously been skeptical of this type of information campaign.
– Now they can implement it as part of the Tidö Agreement, says Jens B Nordström.
