As early as 2023, Looper noticed a funny peculiarity in two popular network series from the USA: In The Big Bang Theory, main character Sheldon (Jim Parsons) has a crush on The Flash. In The Flash, on the other hand, there is apparently a fan of Sheldon.
The Big Bang Theory shows a lot of love for The Flash through Sheldon
In The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper is known as a fan of various comics, films and series. One of them is the superhero series The Flash. Because Sheldon is frequent with appropriate T-shirts to see.
This is not unusual for the comedy series, which is known, among other things, for the fan love of its main characters Sheldon, Leonard, Wolowitz and Raj for various works of pop culture.
The fan feelings are reciprocated in The Flash
What’s exciting, however, is that the fan love seems mutual: The series creators of The Flash returned the favor.
The Flash, a spin-off of the Arrow series, is about the career of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), who receives superpowers as a result of an accident. Since then, he has been able to move at absolute top speed as the fastest person in the world.
Another main character is Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). He is apparently a fan of the series The Big Bang Theory, because he wears T-shirts with Sheldon Cooper sayings. Cisco’s T-shirts alternately read Sheldon classics such as: Bazinga!, This is my place or Rock – Paper – Scissors – Lizard – Spock.
These details indicate that not only The Flash has made it into the series universe of The Big Bang Theory – the sitcom exists in reverse in the world of The Flash. Viewers on Reddit also noticed this 6 years ago:
It’s a paradox, isn’t it? That’s like people on The Office talking about a 40-year-old virgin.
An innovative way for the series creators to show that they value each other – and a lovely extra for attentive fans.
