This is how the fight for the throne plays as attacker and defender

In Throne and Liberty it’s all about which guild gets to take the throne in the end. We’ll explain to you here how the actual battle for the throne works.

Throne and Liberty is ultimately about the eponymous throne, which a guild has to take together with 3 allied guilds. To do this, the alliances consisting of up to four guilds must compete against each other in a major battle.

The winner gets control of the castle and thus control of the taxes, certain items and can decide when the tax transport takes place. It also receives a lot of lucent and sollant.

There are two sides to the battle: the defenders of the castle, who have been in control of it so far, and the attackers of the castle. In our guide we look at both sides. Use the overview to quickly switch to a topic of your choice.

Anonymization of the guilds

During the castle siege, all characters are anonymized. Their names and outfits are changed. This is what the colors mean:

  • Blue outfits: The guild markers of players from your own or allied guilds appear in blue.
  • Red outfits: The guild markers of foreign guilds are displayed in red, accompanied by a random four-digit number in the format “rot1234”.
  • Yellow outfits: The members of the attacking guild are marked in yellow.
  • Special brands: Guild Leaders, Guardians, and Advisors have special icons next to their names that highlight their roles.

    The siege as an attacker

    If your guild is not the current owner of the castle or is allied with it, you enter the fight as an attacker of the fortress. To take the castle, you have to get to the throne room, kill the enemy guild leader and help your guild leader take a seat on the throne. But before that you have to fight your way into the castle and through it.

    The difficulty in the fight is mainly due to the fact that although there is only one defending alliance, several parties are trying to conquer the castle at the same time. So you also fight against other attackers.

    Start the siege as an attacker

    Before the fight starts, you and your guild should form up. There are different ways to get into the castle.

    There is a sewer system on the eastern outer wall. This can be used by players who have a dagger to get into the castle. The dagger has the Shadow Strike ability, which allows you to get through the bars to the rats in the sewers. This way you can get into the castle as unnoticed as possible.

    By attacking the rats with the “Shadow Strike” ability, you can get through the grate.

    Another creative way to get into the castle is via the Gigantrite. The mighty whale also passes Felswacht Castle as it circles the map. You can use this to fly past everyone directly towards the throne room.

    However, the main route into the castle for you and your allies is the outer walls. To overcome it, you must capture one of the siege ruins.

    With the siege ruins over the walls

    There are four siege ruins outside the walls of Rockwatch Keep. They cannot be taken by the defenders in the castle, but can be taken by their allies and the attackers. The siege ruins can be conquered by the guild leader, guild advisor and guild guard.

    Once conquered, the occupying guild can revive itself there, teleport there and spawn the powerful golems from there.

    Golems tear down the walls

    Golems are the attackers’ tool of choice to overcome the castle walls. There are 4 different golems:

  • Stone crusher are used to break through walls, towers and gates and can also be used to knock opponents off the walls.
  • Battle carrier are transport golems that can climb walls and allow players to get over them.
  • Gate hammers are ranged golems that can destroy gates, walls and towers from a distance and also reduce the damage taken for a short time.
  • Jump attacker are dangerous golems that specialize in overcoming walls and tracking down enemies.

    • To summon a golem, the guild needs golem slates, which can be purchased from the guild goods merchant at the guild base.
