At Limhamn outside Malmö, the trend has been clear lately: Prices are going down into the basement.
– Right now the prices are the lowest since we moved here, says home owner Fanny Martinsson
But the price drops for villas look different in different parts of the country. Swedish brokerage statistics has examined the development in the various electricity price areas and the price drops from the top quotations are significantly deeper in areas 1 and 2 in the southern parts of the country where electricity prices have been the highest.
Noting new trend
The mild autumn has dampened electricity prices so far. But with winter approaching, many fear they will once again soar. And a new trend has been noted in broker statistics:
– Housing rights usually go down the most, but now it’s the other way around. This indicates that electricity prices are a factor behind the falls, says Hans Flink, sales manager at Swedish Broker Statistics.
