The project had 44 participants between December 2020 and June 2022. And shortly, educators Anna Sandström and Jenny Erickson will work with another 130 individuals when the project is implemented in the municipality’s regular work, due to successful results.
“There is a place for everyone”
– We work on a very individual basis with everything from training social skills to digitization, because if you have been away from the labor market for a long time, it takes time to come back, says Anna Sandström.
Colleague Jenny Erickson adds:
– It’s all about showing trust in these individuals. To convey that there is hope for them too so that they feel they can take their place. That there is a place for everyone.
The challenges
What have been the biggest challenges?
– That many of these individuals have not been in a context for a very long time and have a very weak belief in their own abilities, says Anna Sandström.
– It is very much about our approach. We have had to work a lot to motivate them to believe in themselves, only then do they dare to take the next step. And many testify that they have not experienced that treatment before, says Jenny Erickson.
In the video, the educators describe what exclusion can look like and then they tell a sunny story about how they helped a very isolated man back to working life.
