The Sweden Democrats are launching a rural policy program with old and new proposals. Here is a selection:
Reintroduces the municipalities’ ability to flatly say no to refugee reception until an asylum freeze is introduced at national level.
“Save the village schools!”, with government “bridging support” that can help schools and municipalities cope with periods of temporarily declining pupil numbers in small schools.
Take back parts of self-determination from the EU, including in forestry policy.
Preserve the possibility of a municipal veto against new “wind-industrial facilities”.
Reform beach protection. Control and design must be moved from the county administrations to the municipalities and to some extent the regions.
Sharpen the punishment for misappropriation, criminalize the export of stolen goods and make it easier to confiscate suspected stolen goods.
A specific criminal classification for hunting sabotage should be introduced.
Lower fuel taxes permanently. Lower the reduction obligation to the EU minimum.
Easier to check postal items, without prior prosecutor’s decision.
Introduce animal welfare payments that compensate farmers for additional costs of animal welfare rules.
Always prioritize Swedish fish and Swedish agricultural products in public procurement.
Re-establish contingency stocks for food, agrochemicals and seeds.
Investigate the possibility of classifying aquaculture as an agricultural industry and expanding Swedish fishing within existing quotas.
An education for the so-called forest base year should be introduced in northern Sweden.
Report the area of protected land and especially the area of protected forest to the EU in a way more similar to that of other large forest countries.
Lower the employer contribution for all companies, but mostly for companies in rural and sparsely populated areas.
Simplify the permit process for the start-up of new mines by making so-called change permits the main rule.
The reindeer herding act and the rights of the reindeer herding industry should be fundamentally revised.
Doctors, specialist nurses and qualified teachers who choose to take up employment in rural and sparsely populated areas must be able to receive an annual write-off of their student debts.
Before a national accessibility requirement in ambulance healthcare.
All “further deterioration of the postal service” must be stopped.
Preserve the regional airports, and scrap the aviation tax.
Raise the speed limit in rural areas.
Increase the speed limit for epa tractors from 30 to 45 km/h.
Increased investments should be made in expanding the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in rural and sparsely populated areas.
Reduce the wolf population to 170 and lower the threshold for protective hunting so that permits can be obtained already after the first wolf attack. Put a roof on the wolf tribe
Simplify the licensing processes for hunting weapons.
