Spotify was founded in 2008 in Stockholm by Daniel Oak and Martin Lorentzon and is today the world’s largest streaming service for music and podcasts.
The service has 626 million monthly users, about a third of whom are paying subscribers.

The big change in Spotify – this is what the app looks like now
From time to time, Spotify makes changes to its app. Recently, it was announced that, after a years-long feud with Apple, the company is now allowed to show its customers what the cost of subscriptions and services are directly in the app.
On August 14, iPhone users in the EU were able to see the price information directly in the app, as well as any promotional offers.
The reason for the feud is that Spotify wanted to have a more transparent pricing towards customers, something Apple previously did not agree to.
Before August 14, it was only possible to get price information and make purchases via external web links as Apple themselves charged a fee, something News24 previously reported on.

The global success has made Spotify the 56th most valuable company in the entire world right now.
The company has a turnover of SEK 149 billion and a market capitalization of approximately SEK 750 billion.
This of course means that Spotify can pay its approximately 9,000 employees well – to say the least.

This is how much employees earn at Spotify
In Sweden, the average salary today is SEK 39,900 a month, according to Statistics Sweden. In the tech industry, it looks completely different in many places.
The site Break it has now released its annual salary survey of the tech industry in Sweden, and at the top when it comes to employees you find the tech giants Facebook Sweden and Google Sweden.
A Facebook employee earns an average of SEK 202,734 every month, while an average Google employee has a monthly salary of SEK 173,860. These have 78 and 448 employees respectively in Sweden.
Spotify’s employees, a total of 9,123 people, end up just behind the tech giants with an average monthly salary of SEK 160,673.
