It has been reported that 21-year-old former soldier Daniel Abed Khalife, who is being detained in England on charges of “supporting terrorist acts and sharing information with terrorists”, is accused of “working on behalf of Iran”.
According to the British broadcaster BBC, former British soldier Khalife, who managed to escape from Wandsworth Prison in London yesterday, is accused of “collecting information on behalf of Iran”.
It was stated in the indictment of Daniel Abed Khalife that “it was stated that he was assigned to collect information that could be useful to an enemy, and it was understood that the enemy mentioned in the indictment was Iran.”
London Metropolitan Police announced that Khalife, who was detained in England on charges of “supporting terrorist acts and sharing information with terrorists”, escaped from Wandsworth Prison, one of the largest prisons in the country.
Khalife, who previously served in the British army, is thought to have worked in the prison kitchen and escaped from prison by tying himself to the underside of a food delivery van.
Khalife, who was also accused of planting a device disguised as a bomb at a military base while he was serving in the army, was expected to appear in court in November.
