Becoming a pro in Counter-Strike 2 not only takes talent, but also a lot of hard training. The e-sports star Donk has now explained how much such a professional trains.
What does an e-sports professional do? E-sport is a competitive sport and the professionals who compete for millions in prize money every year train really hard.
The real work of e-sports professionals is training to prepare for tournaments. The tournaments themselves only make up a small part of the job compared to the many hours of training.
In an interview with esports.gg, CS2 professional Donk revealed his daily routine that the player goes through in order to be the best at the end of the year.

A professional thinks about CS2 all day long
What does the daily routine look like? Donk said that he gets up in the morning and first has breakfast. Afterwards, training with his team begins. There are both theory lessons and practical units in which the team works together. New strategies are learned, tested and old ones are refreshed.
According to dotesports.com estimates, team training lasts about eight hours. After the team finishes, however, it’s not time for Donk to call it a day.
The 17-year-old professional says in the interview that he works on his personal performance after team training. He then plays seven more games, each lasting about an hour. If he’s not satisfied after that, he’ll play even more.
However, Donk doesn’t play deathmatch, unlike many other professionals. He finds the duels there quite unrealistic and therefore doesn’t attach much value to the whole thing. In total, the 17-year-old should train around 15 hours a day, even if not every minute of that time is spent in the game.
What is the goal of Donk? He is already considered by many fans to be the best player in Counter-Strike 2, but the professional wants to be sure and clear up any doubts. In the interview he says:
“At the moment I can’t call myself the best player in CS2 and I believe that at the end of the year everyone will know who the best player is. […] We have a lot of tournaments ahead of us and it’s up to others to decide who the best player is, not me.” But at just 17 years old, he is already one of the greatest talents in Counter-Strike history ever existed.
As early as Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the professional will be up for $500,000, i.e. around 460,000 euros, at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. Only recently did the professional have to take a back seat: the 17-year-old won an important tournament in February, is considered a future star and is now banned on Twitch
