Cleo celebrated her birthday without her best friends Karla and Janni. Cleo is surprised to find that the two had planned a surprise party for her. Karla and Janni are disappointed when they take down the surprise, but when Cleo sees this, she gets angry again and thinks that her friends are blaming her. When the argument between the women escalates, Rick tries to step in as a mediator.

Sara’s enthusiasm about her new assistant job at the Matrix is quickly dampened. Piet gives her tasks like walking the dog and doing the laundry and keeps Sara from doing the bookkeeping, which she is actually supposed to do for Milla. An argument soon breaks out between Milla and Piet. The reason: they both have different views on Sara’s new tasks. The back and forth is too much for the young mother, however, and she quits her job at the Matrix. Shortly afterwards, she receives an unbeatable job offer.

Malte has reconciled with Joe and pretends to regret everything he has done. Peggy has doubts about Malte’s change of heart and she turns out to be right. He is secretly planning a dangerous operation with Indira. When Malte turns up at Joe and Peggy’s wedding party, he makes a sweeping attack and settles accounts with Joe. But before he is thrown out, Malte blows up the wedding cake and everyone flees the shared apartment. Joe finally settles accounts with Malte.

Peggy tries to suppress the events of the previous day. But she soon has to admit that the past few weeks have been more of a burden on her than she wants to admit. The explosion in particular awakens a deep trauma in her and she has a panic attack when the apartment door slams shut. Milla is at her side and tries to distract her with a massage and a girls’ night at the Matrix.

Malte wants to make amends and gives Chiara a new cell phone. She is completely overwhelmed by the gesture and offends him. She gives him the phone back and makes Malte feel like she hates him. Chiara feels partly responsible for Malte’s suicide attempt and cannot deal with her guilty conscience. In an emotional conversation, the two fall into each other’s arms in tears.

Bad news for Sina and Noah: The siblings have to move to Brandenburg to live with their foster mother Paula. Sina feels betrayed by Paula and Katy, but Katy is dismayed and can’t change her decision. Katy is up to her neck in despair when Bruno comes up to her and wants to know what will happen between them now. She feels like she can’t please anyone and draws a line under it.
