Opting for a home solution helps protect your equipment, save money and limit the environmental impact of household products. For this magical homemade cleaner that makes cleaning your hobs effortless, you’ll need baking soda, olive oil, dishwashing liquid, a little warm water and a microfiber cloth. These items are likely already in your closet, making this method even more accessible.

Before you begin, make sure your cooktop is turned off and cool to the touch. Remove solid residue using a plastic spatula or a scraper specially designed for glass ceramic. In a bowl, mix the baking soda with a few drops of olive oil and dishwashing liquid and a little lukewarm water to form a thick, very moldable paste that you can handle easily.

Spread this paste on your plates, paying particular attention to the stained areas. This way the remains will soften, making it easier for you to dispose of them. Leave to act for 10 to 15 minutes, and clean with a microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the surface of the glass ceramic. All you have to do is rinse and dry with a clean cloth. The drying stage is very important to avoid water marks.
