At the end of the autopsy on Lina’s body last weekend, experts put forward a hypothesis, without however being able to confirm it with certainty.
Almost a year and a month, to the day, after her disappearance, Lina must be buried this Friday, October 25, 2024. The body of the 15-year-old teenager, who had not given any sign of life since September 23, 2023 while she was going from her home, located in La Plaine, to the Saint-Blaise-la-Roche station, in Bas-Rhin, was found lifeless last week in Nièvre. The autopsy carried out over the weekend allowed the family to be able to recover Lina’s body for burial on Friday, but also allowed investigators to learn a little more about the circumstances of her death while the main suspect , Samuel Gonin, committed suicide last summer.
As revealed this Thursday The Parisianthe autopsy did not, however, prove to be entirely “conclusive” due in particular to the state of Lina’s body, found in the wilderness. Nevertheless, one hypothesis emerges: that according to which the teenager died as a result of asphyxiation. Traces observed on his neck were able to support this hypothesis. Several corroborating sources claim that the teenager could have been asphyxiated using a plastic bag. Additional assessments are now underway to confirm or not this hypothesis.
One thing is certain, the theory of an accident followed by a hiding of bodies seems to be fading away little by little. The examination of the place of Lina’s disappearance and the autopsy seem, conversely, to strengthen the criminal trail. What about possible sexual violence? The body having been found well after Lina’s disappearance, the forensic doctors were unable to provide a formal answer on this point. But a source says that the teenager was dressed in several clothes which did not seem to have been removed and then put back on. “Unfortunately, what exactly may have happened on September 23, 2023 remains, and will undoubtedly remain, quite unclear. The late discovery of Lina’s body and the suicide of Samuel Gonin risk depriving the family of the complete truth,” points to a source close to the case at Parisian.
