This explosive action film with devastating humor is not to be missed in cinemas this week for entertainment lovers.
Want a “popcorn movie” this weekend? There’s just what you need in this week’s cinema releases. Among the must-sees in theaters, this action comedy, as funny as it is explosive, promises to arouse public curiosity and seduce spectators.
The Fall Guy is a love letter to one of the shadow professions of the seventh art: stuntmen and stunt coordinators. In detail, the plot follows one of them, Colt Seavers, who left everything, including the woman of his life, after a filming accident which almost cost him his life. But one day he finds the opportunity to win her back when he is asked to find a missing movie star. And inevitably, nothing is going to go as planned.
Directed by David Leitch (Bullet Train, Deadpool 2), The Fall Guy is a fun and crazy film, extremely generous in its many explosive stunts and action scenes, but also in its humorous scenes. Cinema fans will find plenty of references and winks, while others will be able to take in the sights, between the fights and the chases that pay homage to the genre. The feature film keeps its promise, namely to offer enjoyable and above all very effective entertainment!
The great strength of this blockbuster lies above all in its casting, and in particular in the choice of Ryan Gosling in the title role, who proves once again, after having played the unforgettable Ken in Barbie, his impeccable comic sense. With Emily Blunt, they form a couple with undeniable chemistry. Facing them, we also find other very well-known faces, namely Aaron Taylor-Johnson (perhaps the next James Bond?), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Stephanie Hsu (Everything, Everywhere all at once) and Winston Duke (Black Panther).
The Fall Guy is a breath of fresh air in cinemas and thus stands as the standard bearer of the stuntman profession. For Ryan Gosling, “stunts are one of the reasons why audiences fell in love with action cinema in the first place,” as he explained in an interview. This shadowy profession, essential to many films in theaters, is however often underestimated, particularly at the Oscars. The high mass of American cinema does not dedicate prizes to them and rarely puts them in the spotlight, which has been criticized several times.
If such a price existed, The Fall Guy could also win it hands down, stuntman Logan Halladay beating the record for car rollovers performed in a film (8.5) previously held by Casino Royale. An exhilarating sequence to discover at the cinema from Wednesday May 1, release date of The Fall Guy.
