This fast food giant should arrive in France its specialty is

A new fast-food chain wants to set up restaurants in France and it does not specialize in burgers or nuggets.

McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Five Guys, the fast-food chains are enjoying real success in France and continue to multiply. It is in this landscape that a new kid could make its appearance in France. According to BFM Businessthe Dairy Queen chain, often abbreviated DQ, is preparing its arrival in France, while it already has 7,500 restaurants around the world, mainly in the United States and Canada.

France “is a strategic market for Dairy Queen (…) When we see what brands like McDonald’s or Burger King have been able to do, it gives us a lot of hope”, declared Nicolas Boudet, international general manager of the brand.

“Nothing has been signed yet,” explained Nicolas Boudet, because the chain is looking for a local partner but 100 to 200 restaurants could arrive in France. This could happen within at least a year, or even rather in 2026. By targeting France, Dairy Queen is attempting a new breakthrough in Europe after several unsuccessful attempts. The chain had already tried to establish itself in Italy, Slovenia and Poland. In the latter, restaurants closed after barely a year.

The chain offers burgers, chicken wings, wraps, fries like many of its competitors, but not only that. Its specialty is frozen desserts. Created in Illinois in 1940, the chain actually began by selling ice cream. Its flagship product, “Blizzard”, is a whipped ice cream, served in a large cup with different toppings, such as pieces of cookie or candy.

This ice cream is particularly known for being so creamy that upside down, it does not turn over and is sometimes even presented that way. Ice cream comes in many flavors, some of which are quite surprising like “salted caramel truffles” or “pumpkin pie.” Will these recipes succeed in convincing the French more than their European neighbors? If fast food does arrive in France, it will in any case be an opportunity to try the experience.
