This evening, Monday, September 9 at 7 p.m. French time, Apple will hold its traditional back-to-school conference to present its new products, including the iPhone 16. Here’s how to follow the conference live on the Internet.

It’s a tradition that’s now well established. Every year in September, Apple holds a back-to-school conference (a keynote as it’s called) to present its new products. And 2024 is no exception to the rule, with one small detail regarding the choice of date. Because instead of a Tuesday, as is customary in Cupertino, the apple company had to postpone its presentation to Monday, September 9, due to the televised debate between the candidates for the presidency of the United States that will be held on the 10th.

Except for this slight time lag, the principle remains the same. The grand mass will be an opportunity for Tim Cook and his team to unveil new products, starting with the iPhone 16, the new flagship smartphone, in its various versions (see our article). If the oracles’ predictions prove correct, as is often the case, Apple should also present new smartwatches, the Apple Watch, as well as new AirPods, its famous wireless headphones.

And as has been the case for several years, only a select few – always the same ones – are invited to California to attend the event on site, at Apple Park in Cupertino. But there is no need to be part of this caste to follow the conference, since it will be broadcast live on video on the Apple website, on YouTube and even on this page, starting at 7 p.m. French time. You can therefore follow all the announcements in real time, while also benefiting from French subtitles. And even watch them again at any time, since these videos will be available in replay. And even if you are not passionate about Apple’s new products, you can always have fun counting the amazing, exciting and other superlatives with which the speakers punctuate their enthusiastic speeches. But also observe the very particular attitude that the presenters adopt during these conferences, as we explain in our article.

Apple Keynote 2024: a conference brought forward for reasons of state

A few days ago, at the end of August, Apple officially announced that its next keynote will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 7 p.m. Paris time. This choice of date comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Cupertino company usually holds this annual event on Tuesdays. The last-minute change is explained by a scheduling conflict with the American presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, scheduled for September 10, the date initially mentioned by some observers for Apple’s conference. By moving its event forward by one day, Apple hopes to capture the attention of the media and its fans.

This year’s tagline, “It’s Glowtime,” promises a look into the future, highlighting artificial intelligence and other technological innovations. Despite the unusual change of date, the September 9 keynote is shaping up to be one of Apple’s biggest events of the year. With expected announcements around the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and potential new versions of AirPods,

As always, the event will take place partly in person at Apple Park in Cupertino, where a few privileged people will be invited by Apple, but also online. No need to be one of these VIPs to attend: everything will be broadcast live in streaming on the Internet, on the Apple website and on YouTube, with, as always, French subtitles.

Apple Keynote 2024: iPhone 16, Apple Watch, AirPods and Apple Intelligence

As expected, the iPhone 16 will be the center of attention. Although its exterior design should not mark a major break from the iPhone 15, it is inside that the evolution will be felt. The iPhone 16 will be equipped with the A18 chip and 8 GB of RAM, promising great performance, particularly in terms of artificial intelligence thanks to Apple Intelligence. This new software brick will allow more intuitive interactions with Siri and notable improvements in photography, with a new redesigned photo module and a capacitive button to facilitate shooting.

For photography enthusiasts, the Pro and Pro Max models promise to offer additional innovations. In addition to a 5x optical zoom and vertically arranged photo sensors, an action button will appear across the range, an asset previously reserved for the Pro models.

In addition to the iPhone 16, the keynote will also celebrate 10 years of the Apple Watch with the introduction of the Series 10. The anniversary promises some surprises, including larger and thinner displays, as well as health improvements. There’s talk of blood pressure monitoring, sleep apnea, and better battery life. The top-of-the-line version, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, is also expected to be unveiled, although the improvements appear to be more modest.

The tagline “Light on the Future” seems to indicate that artificial intelligence will play a central role during this keynote. Apple plans to roll out new AI-powered features that will improve not only the user experience with Siri, but also the entire iOS 18 ecosystem. However, these features may not be available immediately in some regions, including Europe, where Apple has already indicated that some innovations will arrive in 2025.
