The French manufacturer Plume launches its very first electric scooter equipped with long-lasting, easily repairable batteries, intended to fight against theplanned obsolescence of this type of machine. The particularity of the Feather Allure is to have an innovative, durable and easily repairable battery. This one is designed by the Bordeaux startup Gouach. Its design without welding makes it possible to replace the smallest defective cells very quickly, without having to change (and throw away) the battery whole.
In fact, each lithium-ion cell is treated here as a unitary consumable, which makes it possible to considerably extend the duration of life of the whole battery. It should be noted that Gouach also undertakes to recover and to recycle whenever possible used lithium-ion cells. These batteries, which can be repaired in less than 10 minutes, are as efficient as conventional models. Thanks to a application dedicated, it is possible at any time to have a diagnostic battery and thus know how many cells should be changed.
Between 45 and 70 km of autonomy
For the rest, this electric scooter also stands out for its lighting LEDs powerful, both in terms of position lights and those of dynamic braking and indicators. The objective here is to see but also to be seen by everyone, day and night. The scooter is limited to 25km/h and offers different driving modes (pedestrian, eco, standard, sport and mountain). Its small screen indicates the remaining autonomy and all the data and statistics necessary for the current journey.
The Plume Allure will be available in two versions with 45 and 70 km of autonomy, at 1,099 and 1,399 euros respectively. Note that an introductory offer offers 20% immediate reduction.
