This device is often connected to a multi power it

Too many people connect this device to a multi -power. It is a mistake, beware of the risk of fire.

Multipages, if they have become essential for our daily lives, should be used with caution because they are not without risk. Poorly used, they have many dangers. For example, they can overheat, sauté the pellets, damage the electrical installation, cause an electric shock … see even being at the origin of fires.

If many good practices such as avoiding plugging in cascades, getting rid of damaged multipleisms, avoiding connecting large household appliances to multiple women, or not placing them loan from a water point are known, others are less so. And yet, these errors are frequent and just as dangerous say electricians. Many domestic fires are due to improper use of multiple women.

For example, did you know that some devices, other than large household appliances, should never be connected to a multi-power? In winter, many households have extra heaters, for example to heat a room rarely used, to heat the bathroom faster in the morning and avoid the cold upon waking, or even to heat in case of breakdown radiator.

Unfortunately, many people are poorly use their extra heating, and this is really dangerous. The most frequent error: plug it into a multipleist. This is very dangerous. An extra radiator consumes a lot of energy (between 1000 W and 2500 W). A standard multi -power generally supports between 3,500 W and 4000 W in total. If several powerful devices are plugged at the same time, the limit is quickly exceeded, which can blow up the lead, overheat the multiprise, or cause a fire. The solution: always connect it directly to a wall outlet.

If no wall socket is available, here are some tips:

  • Use a multi -power with switch and protection against overvoltages;
  • Check that it supports at least 3500 W;
  • Do not connect any other device to the multipleist;
  • Limit the duration of use and always stay in the room;
  • Choose a thick and short cable to minimize energy loss and heat.

But the ideal still remains to connect an extra heating directly to a wall outlet to avoid any risk.

On the other hand, you should not replace your heating system with extra heating. The latter should not be turned continuously, and even less on a multipleist, because he may overheat. Also, avoid placing it in certain places, such as a source of water, a window, or next to flammable materials (curtains, carpets, etc.). Finally, don’t forget to maintain your device.
