About twenty petitions were launched on the internet following the decree voted by a dozen ministers of Emmanuel Macron concerning the culture pass.
They are angry and make it known. On social networks, young people are swarming. About twenty petitions were even launched. Concretely, for a few days, the culture pass has been removed for those under 17.
Since 2022, young people aged 15 have been paid 20 euros. Thirty euros were granted to those aged 16-17 and no less than 300 euros were received by 18-year-olds. With the vote of this decree, from this month of March, the 15-16 year olds no longer receive anything. If those aged 17 are paid 50 euros, the 18 -year -old credit has been saved: they are now more than 150 euros, half less.

Published on Change.org, the twenty petitions plead for a return of the culture pass for the 15 years, but also of the credit of 300 euros for young people aged 18. They have already brought together more than 120,000 signatures. In parallel, on Tiktok, some young people directly attack the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, when other attacks the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati. But it’s not just young people who share their dissatisfaction. The French bookstore union also deplores these budget cuts. “A brake on reading young people and their frequentation of bookstores,” he said in a press release.
Note that anger also rumbles on the side of teachers who saw the collective part of the culture pass, namely the budget granted to colleges and high schools for cultural outings and projects, frozen, relayed the Huffpost. While 72 million euros were initially available in 2025, it is only 50 million that can be used by the end of the school year.
