This airline offers free travel for grandparents

A low-cost airline is launching a new offer allowing grandparents to travel abroad for free with their family. An announcement which should boost intergenerational holidays.

Have you ever traveled as a whole family? Most of the time, grandparents look after their grandchildren during school holidays, but it is rare to travel together, especially abroad. This is the observation made by the low-cost airline Easyjet. According to a study carried out in Great Britain, more than half of older people have never spent a holiday in another country with their children and grandchildren. It is to strengthen family ties and encourage families to travel together that the company has decided to launch a new offer called “Grans go free”: grandparents travel for free. She therefore wishes to encourage intergenerational travel, which has become trendy in recent times according to professionals in the sector, by encouraging people to escape with three generations to Europe. Certain destinations are already highlighted such as Greece, Spain and Italy. Sunny countries where everyone will find happiness.

For the moment, this attractive offer is only launched in the United Kingdom. And to benefit from it, you will have to act quickly. Tickets on sale from the beginning of February are limited. Please note that family ties are checked upon arrival, and it is necessary to book at the same time as the traveling family, with at least one child on board the flight. According to The Guardian newspaper, “a grandparent participating in the trip can travel for free to countries such as Spain, Greece and Italy.”

New destinations should be opened soon, particularly in France. Of those surveyed and affected by this offer, more than half said they would probably leave the choice of destination to the grandparent. We now expect this offer to develop for French-speaking grandparents.
