Third in its class in the world… ATAK-2 helicopter took off for the first time!

President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, İsmail Demir, stated that the heavy class attack helicopter ATAK-2, developed with domestic and national resources, took off for the first time.

Work within the scope of the ATAK 2 Heavy Class Attack Helicopter Project started on 17 February 2019.

After the completion of the design and structural production activities, ATAK 2, which started ground tests, successfully concluded the tests, which were the first engine start requirements, and successfully performed the first engine start, which is one of the most important corners of the project, on April 23.

FLY FOR 15 MINUTES

ATAK 2, which has been carrying out engine starting and endurance tests on the ground since the said date, has successfully carried out its first test flight between 15.00 and 15.15 hours by cutting its wheels completely off the ground as of today. The world’s third helicopter in this class, ATAK-2 has a weight of 10 tons and an ammunition capacity of 1200 kilograms. (AA)
