Third annual fly in lands Saturday at Sarnias airport

Spectators began arriving early Saturday, before rain began falling in the city, to the third annual Sarnia Ontario Aviation Rally Fly-in at the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport.

Airplanes from around Ontario were expected to attend and displays were set up for spectators from 9 am to 2 pm

Admission is free but donations are accepted for the Pathways Health Center for Children.

The annual fly-ins are organized by Canadian Owners’ and Pilots’ Association Flight 7.

Sarnia astronaut Chris Hadfield was there, signing copies of his books in one of the hangers.

About 1,500 people attended last year’s fly-in and $5,000 was raised for Pathways.

Sunday, the Sarnia Street Machines will host a “cars and coffee” event in the morning at the airport’s main terminal parking area from 9 am to noon.
