The Law Society responded to TV4 News review when began the disciplinary case. TV4 has also reported on other question marks in Jan Tibbling’s relationship with Bella Nilsson, which is now called Fariba Vancor. During a house search, police found his service tray from the time as eco -crime prosecutor among her underwear.
Jan Tibbling had been chief prosecutor at the Swedish Crime Authority, specializing in money laundering. Fariba Vancor is suspected of eco -crime, has been suspected of money laundering and is suspected in the record -sized environmental crime survey also for financial crime. This applies, among other things, to have used several millions of Think Pink’s money for private consumption.
“The actions that are linked to a lawyer’s position as a lawyer are typically such that constitutes lawyer activities. Assignments as chairman of a corporate board may usually be considered to constitute legal activities, as it requires knowledge of the company’s operations and relevant regulations, ”writes the Disciplinary Board in its assessment of the case.
When Tibbling got the fee for his position as a private defender to Nilsson, he sat on the board of a company whose CEO paid out his fees on her behalf. The CEO of the company brought more than SEK 2 million to Bella Nilsson. This happened during a time when she had large debts with the Kronofogden after the Think Pink.
“In these circumstances, it cannot be ruled out that conflicts of interest could have arisen,” the board writes in its decision.
Law Society has taken note of TV4’s review
The dot comes in the middle of the ongoing record -sized trial. After Tibbling had been Nilsson’s private defender since 2022, he was awarded as a public defender in 2024 when the case was passed on to the district court.
Police employees with whom TV4 have been in contact have reacted to his change from the Swedish Crime Authority to become Bella Nilsson’s lawyer. This is because during his time at the authority, her was investigated for suspected money laundering.
“A public defender must be free in relation to his client and have no conflict of interest,” a police officer told TV4 in connection with publishing the review.
The Law Society’s Board of Directors states that they started the review of Tibbling after taking part in two news articles from TV4 News. The first, from July 2024, notified information that the prosecutor’s service was found in Nilsson’s underwear box. The second article came in September 2024 and reported that Bella Nilsson had had large debts and the CEO’s connection to the lawyer regarding the payment.
It is only the latter case he is now convicted, since Tibbling explained that you forgot the prosecutor’s tray during a dinner and had no knowledge of where it ended up after that. In this respect, the Law Society’s Disciplinary Committee does not consider that he has violated good legal practice.
Attorney Jan Tibbling comments on the dot in a text message.
“The committee has made a decision and of course I accept it, but otherwise have no comments,” he writes to TV4 News.
