Think carefully about which planet you liberate in Helldivers 2, because it determines what new equipment is available

In Helldivers 2 you can unlock new gear, but what you get is in the hands of the community.

What kind of decision is that? There is a new general order in Helldivers 2. You have to free the planets Choohe and Penta in a fight against the robots. However, the almighty Joel, who holds the fate of Over-Earth in his hands, has come up with something special.

As a reward for liberating the planets you will receive new equipment. But which equipment you get depends on which of the two planets was completely liberated first.

You, the Helldivers 2 community, have to decide what equipment you want to win for the armies of the over-earth. The other equipment is likely to be lost in the fight against the robots.

The choice: mines or rocket launchers

What equipment can you get? Depending on which planet you liberate, the Helldivers will receive either anti-tank mines or an airburst rocket launcher.

  • Choohe: MD-17 anti-tank mines
  • Penta: RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher
  • On X.com we were apparently able to take a look at the codes of the new equipment before the new general order was announced. A meme posted by the official Helldivers account suggested a choice between two new loadouts. The codes shown in the meme are not yet included in the game.

“Daddy wants a shiny new rocket launcher.”

What will the players choose? Mines and guns currently rarely play a role in the best loadouts, while the quasar cannon and one-time anti-tank defenses have a permanent place in the meta. So it’s quite possible that a large part of the community wants the new Rocket Launcher and that’s why we’ll see a lot of players on Penta.

User Oakenhawk joked on Reddit: “I have family on Choohe, but Daddy wants a shiny new rocket launcher. Sorry, kids.”

Nevertheless, anti-tank mines in particular could have a special incentive for players to finally be able to effectively eliminate armored enemies such as Hulks and factory walkers. The anti-personnel mines are useless against armored opponents and pose a particular threat to Helldivers.
