Millions of people die every year due to cancer. Changing living conditions increase the risk of developing cancer. It is known that excessively salty and sugary foods cause both cancer and diabetes, heart diseases and kidney diseases. According to studies, biscuits, sweets, sodas and sausages can increase the risk of bowel cancer in men. Ultra-processed foods, including instant soups and noodles, and sweet or savory packaged snacks, are linked to higher rates of disease, the researchers said.
PARTICIPANTS WATCHED OVER 28 YEARS
US academics analyzed data from three long-term health studies involving more than 46,000 men and nearly 160,000 women. Participants in the study were followed for 24 to 28 years, during which 3,216 cases of bowel cancer were identified. Researchers from Tufts University in Boston evaluated diet through food questionnaires completed by participants every four years.
INCREASES THE RISK OF BOTTOM CANCER
Men who ate the most processed foods were 29 percent more likely to develop bowel cancer than those who ate the least. However, no intestinal cancer link was found in the women who participated in the study. However, when researchers whose study was reported in the British Medical Journal looked at subgroups of highly processed foods, they found that women who ate the largest amounts of ready meals had a 17 percent greater risk of bowel cancer than those who did not.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF BOTTOM CANCER?
- Feeling that the bowel is not fully emptied, even after defecation
- Disruption of defecation (diarrhea, constipation)
- Bleeding or blood in the stool
- Feeling pain while defecating
- A clear secretion in the stool
- Abdominal pain and swelling
