“The grave is the place where we come to think of her, to have conversations with her and to stroke her head for a while. The disappearance of the statue also ensures that all the emotions of that time resurface. It is more impressive than we thought,” says Pons Jan. Although he knows that the chances are small that the statue will return, he calls on possible witnesses to report to the police. “As a father I want to have tried everything to get it back. The chance is not great, but you never know.”
