The upcoming season of the World Rally Championship starts at the end of January in Monte Carlo.
The Belgian driver who won the rally car world championship this year Thierry Neuville see you in the new season that will start soon with a number that has not been seen in World Cup rallies for a good couple of years. Neuville tells Autosport that he intends to use the number 1 on the side of his Hyundai car.
Ykkönen toasted with speed bumps in the 2022 season, when the 2021 world champion Sebastien Ogier used it in his toyota. Champion of 2022 and 2023 Kalle Rovanperä used his familiar number 69 both in the 2023 season and last year.
Neuville’s number has been 11 continuously since 2019.
– It’s no secret that we already have number one in the car, but now there is only one. I’m looking forward to it, Neuville enthused to Autosport.
Neuville will open his championship defense at the Monte Carlo rally on the 23rd-26th. January.
