Theyve done that too The TikTok trend to lose weight

Videos praising the benefits of mouth taping on TikTok garnered hundreds of thousands of views. One such benefit, according to mouth patch manufacturers, is that forcing yourself to breathe through your nose only increases fat loss. Its proponents also claim that it improves airflow, relaxes the body, stops snoring and helps people stay asleep.

VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU HAVE SLEEP APNAS

But Dr Raj Dasgupta, a sleep specialist at the University of Southern California, said that taping the mouth can lead to shortness of breath and suffocation at worst, saying “if you have obstructive sleep apnea, yes, it can be very dangerous”. Dr Megan Acho, pulmonologist and sleep specialist, said: “Importantly, if you have a stuffy nose or a deviated nasal septum, you can potentially limit airflow if you tape your mouth.”

Some mouth patch users reported having more energy in the hours after waking up as a result of their improved sleep quality. Experts fear that taking part in the trend could hurt people suffering from sleep apnea.

An influencer who taped his mouth before bed has shaken up a host of issues linked to mouth breathing, including cavities, gum disease, bad breath, brain fog, and sore throat. Mouth-breathing people cannot absorb enough oxygen. Without enough oxygen, our sleep quality and energy levels decline. The mouth patch also helps promote fat burning, which is a benefit of increased oxygen intake.

THEY APPLY THEIR VAGINAL LIQUID TO BE MORE ATTRACTIVE

Doctors recently warned against a similar viral trend called ‘vabbing’, which involves smearing vaginal fluid behind the ears and neck, which proponents claim increases the chances of attracting men by spreading their pheromones.
