155,000 people will receive a higher pension in 2025
News24 recently reported that the insurance company Folksam will raise the pension by 1.6 percent for 155,000 private individuals starting in 2025.
Katrin Röcklingerwho works as a manager in the Life business area at Folksam, told Nyheter24 what the background to the increase is, from their point of view.
– The reason why we are now increasing the defined benefit occupational pension is that Folksam is financially strong and to avoid inflation reducing the value of the pensions. For 2025, the increase in the pension will be 1.6 percent, which corresponds to inflation between September 2023 and September 2024, she said at the time.

The pension is then deposited into your account
Namely, the pension authority announces that on Friday, December 6, it will push a breathtaking 54 billion kroner to the pension savers’ account. A supposedly welcome addition after a long period of inflation that has increased the pressure on wallets around the country.
“On Friday, earned premium pension rights are deposited into the pension savers’ accounts. This year’s deposit is SEK 54 billion. But that is only part of the deposits for pensions. During the year, SEK 341 billion was also paid into the income pension. Employers also pay approximately SEK 260 billion in occupational pension premiums to their employees. This year’s total pension contribution will therefore be approximately SEK 655 billion,” the authority writes on its homepage.
The premium pension will be booked for each person and placed either in funds that you have chosen yourself or in the automatic pre-selection AP7 Såfa.

AP7 Såfa, or the seventh AP fund as it is also called, is a Swedish government authority and one of the Swedish public pension funds.
AP7 Såfa is the government’s default option that you have if you have not made your own choice of where your pension money should be managed.
“It is a ready-made fund portfolio that combines risk and security throughout life without the saver having to think about it,” writes AP7 Såfa on its website.
There are a total of five fund portfolios that the money can be invested in, based on how big or small a risk you are willing to take:

This is the most you can get in retirement on Friday
In 2023, pension contributions totaling SEK 615 billion were made, and then referred to the income year 2022. The money was distributed between income pension, premium pension and occupational pension.
In 2024, that figure is instead SEK 655 billion.
The deposit of the premium pension therefore begins on Friday 6 December and applies to the income year 2023 plus interest, which corresponds to SEK 9,093 per saver on average.
– Now approximately SEK 54 billion is distributed in premium pension funds according to each person’s fund choice. Those who want to know more about their fund choices within the premium pension do not need to call, but can log on to pensionsmyndigheten.se. If no choice has been made, the money is invested in AP7 Såfa, says Estrella Zaratefund information manager at the Swedish Pensions Authority, in one press release.
The maximum deposit you can receive is SEK 14,433.
