Good news came 2 weeks after the single-engine Cessna 206 crashed on May 1 in the Amazon Forest of Colombia. After the accident, 4 children, including an 11-month-old baby, were found alive in the Amazon Forests as a result of search and rescue efforts by security forces, firefighters and civil servants. It was learned that the children were 4.9 and 13 years old.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro said in a statement on his social media yesterday, “It is a great joy for the country that 4 children lost in the plane crash in Guaviare as a result of the hard work of our army.”

The civil aviation official, who participated in the rescue efforts, said that the children got out of the plane after the accident and went to the rainforest to find help and ate fruit.
