A man in his 30s was arrested on Sunday evening on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to put down a 15-year-old girl on the train tracks, Aftonbladet reports.
The incident occurred at the Jakobsberg commuter train station shortly before 9 p.m.
– A patrol was on the platform to check the orderly situation and saw the incident. They shouted at the man at the same time as they advanced towards him and then he let go of the girl so the patrol saved her life, says Mikael Pettersson, officer on duty at the Stockholm police to TT.
The man and the girl must not have known each other before.
– He is unknown to the girl, says Edvard Anbåtels, on-call preliminary investigation manager at the police, to Aftonbladet.
The crime is said to have been captured by surveillance cameras on the platform.
The man was arrested during the night by prosecutors, on probable grounds suspected of attempted murder. He denies any wrongdoing.
