They tried to defraud the insurance company in the USA

Four suspects applied to the insurance company in January, claiming that a bear attacked their vehicle. To prove their claims, they shared the security camera footage with the insurance company.

THEY DAMAGED A ROLLS ROYCE BRAND VEHICLE WHILE DISGUISED AS A BEAR

In the footage in question, the ‘animal’ is seen climbing onto the front seat of the Rolls Royce and making damaging moves towards the luxury vehicle.

However, after the recording raised suspicion, the insurance company contacted authorities in California.

A BEAR COSTUME WAS FOUND FROM THE SUSPECT’S HOUSE

During the raid following the search warrant, a bear costume was found in the house of one of the suspects.

In the statement made by the California Insurance Institute, it was said: “As a result of further examination of the video, it was determined that the so-called bear was actually a person wearing a bear costume.”

APPLICATION TO AN EXPERT

Insurance security officials also consulted wildlife experts to determine that it was not a bear in the images.

The biologist whose expertise was consulted determined that “the image clearly belongs to a person wearing a bear costume.”

In the interior photos distributed to the media, ‘claw’-like damage can be seen on a 2010 model Rolls Royce worth $100 thousand.
