“With quirky mixed media, realistic details are interspersed with fantasy in the colorful and stylish illustrations”, the jury reasons.
The Elsa Beskow plaque was established in 1958 and the prize sum is SEK 25,000. Previous award winners include Ilon Wikland, Jan Lööf, Pija Lindenbaum and Stina Wirsén.
