In a written statement made on the Telegram account of the General Staff, it was reported that Ukrainian F-16 planes carried out mission flights during Russia’s intense air strikes on Ukraine on August 26.
The statement stated that the F-16s were on a mission to repel the missile attack, and that “During the air combat, the F-16 aircraft demonstrated high efficiency, four enemy cruise missiles were shot down from the air with weapons.” The statement stated that communication with an F-16 was lost as it approached the target, and the following was recorded:
“As we approached the next target, communication with one of the planes was lost. As it turned out, the plane crashed, killing the pilot.”
The statement said a special team was assigned to conduct investigations in the area where the plane crashed to find out the causes of the accident. (AA)
