They introduced in Barcelona: Türk Telekom and Huawei together! General Manager Ümit Önal and Deputy Minister Sayan were also there

They introduced in Barcelona Turk Telekom and Huawei together General

Leading the digital transformation of Türkiye Türk Telekomwith its strong fiber infrastructure and innovative vision, it makes pioneering works in all fields of life. Türk Telekom develops innovative practices in all areas of smart urbanism from traffic to security, from irrigation to lighting and continues to direct the technologies of the future with global collaborations. Türk Telekom, Huawei and domestic technology company Iithinka, GSMA Mobile World Congress Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan and Information Technologies and Communication Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu’nun introduced the safe transportation application implemented within the scope of smart urbanism. 5G-Advanced REDCAP technology was used in a transportation project for the first time in Europe, artificial intelligence and video analytical-supported road process detection and driver tracking services were tested with a 5G-Advanced network in Ümraniye.

“We build smart cities of the digital future with 5G”

Türk Telekom CEO Ümit Önal said, “As Türk Telekom, we focused on creating value for our country by reflecting our accumulation in every area of life in line with our inclusive vision. As Türk Telekom, we are the most ready operator for 5G in our country with our strong fiber infrastructure. We have connected 54 %of our LTE Mobile Base Stations with a ratio above the world average. We prepare Türkiye for the technologies of the future with our firsts, technologies we have developed and our contribution to the 5G ecosystem. In this context, we continue our strategic collaborations both local and globally. The application with Huawei and domestic informatics company Iithinka is the basis of future transportation technologies. 5G-Advanced Redcap technology was tested for the first time in a smart transportation study in Europe. With the innovative solutions we have implemented in the fields of transportation, energy, environment, health and safety, we contribute to the construction of high quality of life, sustainable and safe cities. ”
KAYA SHI, General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Huawei Türkiye, said: 5G-Advanced Redcap technology in the first smart transportation application in Europe said:

“As a global leader in the field of technology, it is our greatest priority to evaluate the opportunities of 5G in the best way and to develop sustainable solutions for Türkiye. Our cooperation with Türk Telekom makes a great step in accelerating not only the power of 5G technology, but also the digital transformation of industries. By performing the first test of 5G-Advanced REDCAP technology in the field of smart urbanism, we make an important contribution to the future of the transportation sector both local and global. This technology creates a critical infrastructure for uninterrupted communication, secure traffic management and efficient transportation between vehicles. As Huawei, we will continue to shape the digital future by maintaining our strategic cooperation with Türk Telekom and our local partners ”

Technology that expands the 5G ecosystem: 5G Redcap

5G RedCAP has saved high efficiency, low delay and energy in tests with 5G-Advanced SA architecture as an optimized technology for devices in need of simpler and lower capacity. Redcap CPE, which increases spectrum efficiency for the first time for smart transportation applications in Europe, strengthens a wide range of 5G ecosystem from wearable technologies to industrial sensors. Thus, operators have the opportunity to provide the best service to users by making their networks more efficient. Integrated use of smart transportation systems with smart city solutions, reducing delays caused by traffic -caused time, accident rate, and road work, creates safer and livable cities. Thanks to the decrease in the period of traffic, carbon emissions decrease, while traffic control can be provided in extraordinary situations. In addition, the 3GPP’s release 17, which starts with Release 18 (5G-Advanced) and its continuing 5G Redcap technology, reduces the complexity of network and device, provides cost-effective solutions for IoT manufacturers.

The foundation of the future transportation technologies

During the test where Türk Telekom’s field operational vehicles were used, the risks during driving were instantly detected and the driver was warned, while the data was transferred to the Operation Center without delay with 5G technology. In addition, the anomalies formed on the roads were identified with cameras and the high speed and low delay rate offered by 5G-Advanced technology was forwarded to the Operation Center. While successful results are achieved in order to increase safety in traffic, the application draws attention as an important step in the field of smart urbanism, while the opportunities brought by 5G-Advanced to communicate with each other instantly and without delay through data centers, form the basis of the transportation technologies of the future with V2X.
