A man in his 70s has driven straight into a nursing home in Enköping.
– We have reason to believe that he wanted to drive into the building, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, police spokesperson.
A window and part of the facade were smashed in the collision.
– Half the car has entered construction. The driver suffered minor injuries, but no one was in the room where the car hit the facade, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, the police’s spokesperson.
When the police checked the vehicle, large quantities of petrol were found in several canisters.
– So we have reason to believe that he wanted to drive into the building, but the exact motive we will see what the interrogation says, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.
The police now suspect the man of attempted murder and attempted aggravated arson. He was arrested on the spot and the car has been impounded.
– This is a special case, one might say.
