    A car has driven off the road and overturned in Borås, the police say.

    – The car has landed on the roof. The driver must be unconscious, others who stopped at the scene are trying to get him out, says Christian Brattgård at the police in Väst.

    Information comes to the police that the people finally manage to get the man out and that he is then conscious

    Ambulance and police have arrived at the scene and are currently investigating the accident. There are no reports of more injuries.

    Two people have been requested to be detained after the shooting in Hovsjö in Södertälje on Tuesday. It is about a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, the Prosecutor’s Office states.

    They are suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offences.

    A man had to be taken to hospital with the incident. The shooting was the third act of violence to hit Södertälje in just a couple of days.

    On Monday evening, a hand grenade was thrown into a shop and two people were injured. A boy in his early teens was suspected in that case of attempted murder and public dangerous destruction.

    A couple of days earlier, on Saturday evening, a villa in Södertälje was shelled with several shots.

  • One wanted in custody after shooting in Hagsätra

    A person is wanted in custody after a shooting in the Hagsätra center in southern Stockholm on June 22, the Public Prosecutor’s Office states.

    It concerns a man in his 20s who, on probable grounds, is suspected of serious weapons offenses and two cases of attempted murder.

    Two elderly people have died in an accident in Åtvidaberg, the police say.

    – It was an accident with some kind of work vehicle that happened in the countryside. There are two people who have tragically died as a result of this incident, they are two elderly people, says Olle Älveroth, press spokesperson at the police in Öst.

    Relatives have been notified of the deaths.

    The details of the accident are currently unclear to the police.

    – We are investigating to find out what happened. There are no suspicions of crime at the moment, says Olle Älveroth.

    A preliminary investigation into causing the death of another has been launched to clarify the cause of death.

    Shortly after midnight, a 25-year-old man was set upon in Viskafors by persons unknown to him as he was on his way home.

    A man in his 30s has died after a traffic accident at Norrhult in Uppvidinge municipality.

    The man drove the one car. In the other car were three people in their 80s, who all have minor injuries.

    – We suspect that the vehicle driven by the now-deceased person has driven out of a stop and collided with another vehicle, says Viktor Grönqvist, on-call preliminary investigation leader at the police.

    The police classify the accident as gross negligence in traffic, gross drunk driving and causing bodily harm.

    The man’s relatives have been notified.

    The grim economic situation has hit the car dealers in Sweden hard. In shared first place with the real estate companies, the car dealer industry is the most competitive so far this year, reports Dagens industri.

    During the first half of the year, a total of 108 car dealer companies have been declared bankrupt according to the credit information company Creditsafe, the newspaper writes.

    Last year, the same figure was 63, an increase of 71 percent. The year before that, the number of bankruptcies was 50.

    – Those who have the biggest problem are those who sell the smaller new car brands to private customers and who have not been able to switch to more used sales, says CEO Tommy Letzén to DI.

    Two people are stuck on a mountain top in Norway, according to police district Vest. The weather is said to be bad.

    Fjälltoppen, Store Skagastølstind in southwestern Norway, is the country’s third highest at 2,405 meters above sea level. It is also the only one of the three highest that requires climbing to reach.

    “An alpine rescue team is on its way,” writes the police district a few hours after midnight, on the night of Friday.

    Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, leader of Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, has been arrested by federal police in Texas, reports New York Times.

    The Sinaloa cartel is one of Mexico’s most powerful criminal groups, and is often considered one of the world’s largest drug cartels.

    Joaquin Guzman Lopez, son of the cartel’s former leader Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, has also been arrested.

    The teenage boy from England who was seriously injured in a drowning accident in Alingsås has died.

    This is announced by a representative of the mosque in the boy’s hometown GP.

    The police also confirm the death.

    – I can confirm that, that information came to us last night, says Johan Josarp, officer on duty at the police in the West region, to TT.

    The boy played in a British team that participated in the Gothia cup.

    Last Friday, he was found lifeless in one of the pools at Nolhaga Badpark in Alingsås. He was later treated at Sahlgrenska hospital.

    Several countries have been affected by severe flooding in the wake of Typhoon Gaemi. Among them is the Philippines where at least 15 people are dead.

    Likewise, Taiwan is hard hit with five dead and over 500 injured as Gaemi moved in as a Category 3 hurricane. Here, too, the floods are severe. In the city of Tainan, residents were forced to flee the rapidly rising water, in nearby Kaohsiung, roads flooded and cars filled with water, writes the New York Times.

    During Thursday evening, the typhoon reached southern China. In parts of the country, schools and tourist attractions have been closed and public gatherings have been banned.

  • Forest fire has spread to holiday resort

    A Canadian resort has been severely damaged after a forest fire swept through. It is about the resort located in Jasper National Park in Alberta.

    According to the BBC, up to 50 percent of the built-up area must be destroyed.

    Around 25,000 people have had to flee the fire-ravaged area since the fire started, reports the BBC.

    Hundreds of firefighters are currently battling the blaze and reinforcements are on the way.

    100 firefighters from Mexico are on their way, as are 200 from South Africa and 100 from Australia.
