The 25-year-old man refused to stop for the police and only after a little over seven miles did the maddening trip – at which he drove at a little over 200 kilometers per hour – on the E22 and national highway 40 in the Oskarshamn area end.

By then, the drugged driver had managed to ram the following police car into the middle barrier several times and he also continued to drive his car on the rims after all the tires were punctured by the police’s nail mat.

Now the 25-year-old is sentenced by the Kalmar District Court to one year in prison, reports the Barometer. He must also pay damages totaling over SEK 100,000 to two police officers who suffered neck injuries after the man drove into their car in connection with the arrest.

The insanity trip last September was not the first incident of the same nature committed by the 25-year-old. In addition to two cases of gross negligence in traffic, he is also sentenced for, among other things, gross drunk driving, gross illegal driving and gross causing bodily harm.
