– We also want to be able to live and feel some appreciation for the work that we do after all, says Hans Östman, one of a group of activists from the organization FUB who today wooed Kristofer Dahlgren (L), chairman of the employers’ committee in Gävle municipality.
On the activists’ wish list was also the right to wellness allowance and wellness hour – all to improve the health of the intellectually disabled as a group.
– I need health care because I have rheumatism in my joints, says Regina Lindén, who works in the canteen at the town hall.
Kristofer Dahlgren could not promise any reforms on his feet when he met the activists.
– I have just received the list of requirements and think it could be an exciting thing to look at. We will see what opportunities we have and what that would mean in terms of budget.
